One More Time....
HP has released another firmware update affecting printers using the HP910/910XL cartridges. On April 21, 2025 HP released firmware series 2512B and 2512C which will disable aftermarket cartridge functionality in your HP printer.
To avoid printing interruption and continue aftermarket cartridge functionality, set your printer to "Do Not Update" and when a "Web Services Update" prompt occurs, "Just Say 'No'" to any updates when your printer is functioning properly.

It's not much, but it's a start......
Although HP escaped broad monetary penalties to all owners of at least the 2 printers in the suit, they were ordered to pay almost a million in attorneys fees and small judgements for 2 plaintiffs.
By losing this suit, HP now understands the consumer and the stance of the courts regarding firmware updates.

Consumers Beware!!!
Updates ARE OPTIONAL. Over 99% of all printers will function properly throughout their service life without a firmware or web services update.
Change your factory default settings to "Do Not Check" and if possible, "Allow Downgrade".
If your printer is functioning properly, do not accept or install firmware updates of web services updates.

Some users recently have reported that HP latest firmware update disrupts its LaserJet MFP M232-M237 printers.

It has been almost 2 months since the last firmware update from HP for printers using HP962, HP952, HP910, and HP902 series cartridges.

Be On the Look Out (BOLO) for additional firmware and web services updates disabling your ability to use aftermarket cartridges AND HP cartridges you purchased with Warranty Dates prior to 1/1/2024.

99+% of all printers will function properly throughout their lifespan WITHOUT updates. If your printer is working properly, DO NOT UPDATE. Updates are optional.

NOTICE!!! HP has released another new firmware version affecting printers using HP972(XL) series ink cartridges. The new firmware version is 2425A. If installed, this firmware will disable use of aftermarket replacement cartridges. DO NOT install this update if your printer is working properly. Installing the new firmware is NOT REQUIRED.
JUST SAY NO to Firmware Updates to allow you to exercise your options and choices.

NOTICE! July 25, 2024, HP released a new firmware update affecting printers using HP952/952XL/956 series cartridges. This new firmware is version 2423A/2426A.
DO NOT INSTALL this new version of firmware. It is not necessary and not required for your printer to function properly. It is promoted by HP as a security or improved functionality firmware, however, the primary affect will disable your ability to choose what cartridges to use in your printer. If installed, this firmware will only allow HP OEM cartridges to be used in your printer.
To disable the firmware update function, in the settings menu go to maintenance and find update settings. Turn off updates and do not accept future updates which may appear as "Web Services Update". The effect of a "Web Services Update" is the same as a firmware update, disable aftermarket cartridges and require use of only HP cartridges.
If you have questions regarding your printer firmware status, print a Printer Status Report and the current firmware version will be listed. 99.9% of all printers will function properly for their functional life without any updates.

We deliver to local area consumers and businesses. Call 208-522-5017 or 208-252-0700.
Currently, there is no delivery fee and we deliver from Pocatello to St. Anthony.
Generally, Shelley to Pocatello is on Tuesday and Rigby to St. Anthony is on Thursday.
Delivery days may be affected by holidays and weather.
We now also offer on site service!
