What if you could rebalance a master without touching an EQ?

Frequency-dependent saturation on the Limiter 2.0 works like an invisible EQ. Two Color circuits, each with its own Drive, Frequency and Mix. Color A adds odd harmonics, Color B odd or even. Focus them where the mix needs it and set Mid and Side independently.

Push harmonics into the low mids and the master gains weight. Add them higher up and it gains presence. No corrective EQ moves, just character exactly where you want it.

Metering matters because ears are brilliant at judging music and poor at judging level. They tire, they adapt to the room, and they hear louder as better. Meters give you the facts your ears cannot hold steady: loudness in LUFS, true peak in dBTP, stereo phase, and where the energy sits in the spectrum. The professional approach is to mix by ear and confirm with meters at a glance. That works best when the meters are always in view, not buried behind plugin windows. - Read full article on our website.

Analog limiting controls the peaks of a master in real time, in the analog domain. Instead of slicing transients flat, it rounds them and adds harmonic density, so a track can get louder while keeping its punch. In a professional mastering chain the analog limiter does the heavy lifting first. A clipper, or a deliberately driven A/D converter, then shaves off the last fraction of a decibel. A final digital limiter is the cherry on top: a useful safety net for true peak, but not a requirement. - read full article on our website.

Short answer: analog limiting controls the peaks of a master in real time, in the analog

From Pultec to Plugin Recall: It all started in 1951 with the legendary Pultec EQP-1 - a design that helped define the sound of passive equalization for generations of engineers. But while the sound became timeless, studio workflows changed completely. In our latest article, we take a short trip through the history of the passive equalizer - from the original Pultec concept, through the first Bettermaker EQ232P with digital recall, all the way to today’s SPE, VSPE and PEQ_core. 100% analog passive filters. Full DAW control, automation and instant session recall. 75 years of passive EQ evolution - and the story is still going.
