Have a 2100XC washer with a door that won't unlock? Try this work around that you won't find it in the manual.

While looking at a Dometic fan instruction manual, I realized I never educated myself on the Lorem Ipsum step of opening a 5250 fan.
But I don't care because their tech support for their air conditioners has been fantastic to me.

Been a good couple of weeks. We're lucky to have such understanding Clients in this heatwave while we work through calls to get everyone taken care of -- prioritizing AC & electrical calls above all others. Here are a few of our favorite things in the past 2 weeks.

Had a dealership owner tell me to my face this week that I cause trouble for him with my inspection reports..."I tell the buyers why waste your money on an inspection? Especially new units, what could be wrong?"
I wonder how many ladders failed before they issued this recall, and I wonder who found the problems.

Been a great week, also one of my busiest. Installed a new air conditioner, helped a client figure out why half of his camper did not work after plugging into a 240 volt pedestal with a 30 amp coach, had two inspections yield some great results for clients who negotiated cost, did some troubleshooting for a grinding bug screen, worked on an Italian 12 volt refrigerator, and was able to replace a control box for a Furrion, track down a water leak from an ice maker on a motorhome, and did some remote diagnostic work for Park service ranger.
Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your adventure!

Found the culprit of a Furrion air conditioner that would not blow cold. Hooked it up to my external controller and the unit functioned perfectly fine. Reached out to Lippert who sent a new Control Box and it runs just like new.
South Carolina heat can have a lot of fun with your electronics!

Update: found other techs who have the exact same issue with their Furrion control board at the relay this week. Seems like a Mfr problem.

My favorite highlight (video below) from an inspection this morning of a 2017 Thor Gemini 23TR with 23k miles, ~$49k.
It begs the question -- did they install a Dometic AC with HeatPump because they didn't want to ever use this Suburban Furnace again?
(This 5 second clip was really fun to trim from its original 30 second clip where I go over the steps to engage the Furnace and verifying the minimal heat that it created)
Note: mind the shaky cam -- lost my tripod.

Post-Sale Inspection of a 2024 Thor Pasadena today. 3 months old. Here are my 4 favorite findings:

1. Client stated the front burner never worked like the rear (see video). The culprit? A small piece of painters tape was over the gas port of the front burner so that it obstructed flow (Notice the plume of ignited gas only occurs out of the right side of the burner).

2. They never installed the fourth air conditioner shroud bolt, but they did tape over the hole with foil tape under the Shroud.

3. The furnace vents were covered in foil tape so that no air flow was coming out of them.

4. The two outlets (4 receptacles) located above the kitchen sink were not GFCI protected (neither via Outlet or GFCI breaker at the panel).

Oh yeah, this is after Thor paid for warranty replacement of his entire leveling system because Thor installed the wrong size jacks and fluid reservoir (installed by another tech).

Needless to say, new does not mean better.

Don't get bent out of shape! Yeah, I said it. A slip of the foot at the pedal can -almost- wreck your weekend. Happy to have helped this Vet get back on the road before checkout and make it back home.

Sidenote: Harbor Freight Bottle Jack's are gold.
