✨ BIG NEWS FOR DOWNTOWN ANGOLA! ✨

Angola has been selected as one of just 10 Indiana communities to launch a Creative Convergence Project through the Indiana Arts Commission! Check out the announcement here: https://tinyurl.com/yzhvss28

Through this statewide initiative, Angola Main Street participated in a two-day Creative Convergence training and has now been awarded a $5,000 Early Action Grant to launch our project:

“Synergy: Enriching Everyday Life through Creativity & Collaboration.”

Creative Convergence is designed to embed arts and creativity into community and economic development — bringing together local government, arts leaders, business owners, tourism partners, and community members to create meaningful, lasting impact.

This is about more than art.
It’s about collaboration.
It’s about vibrancy.
It’s about strengthening the heart of Angola.

💡 WHAT’S NEXT?
We’ll be rolling out a community survey soon to gather input on workshop themes, creative offerings, and educational opportunities that YOU want to see in downtown Angola. Your voice will help shape the direction of this initiative!

Stay tuned for ways to get involved — and thank you for being part of a community that believes creativity belongs at the center of everyday life.

Join us in celebrating Dia de los Mu***os Saturday November 1st, from 4 PM to 6 PM, this is a special opportunity to honor and remember our loved ones who have passed on through vibrant traditions and heartfelt remembrance. Come experience the rich cultural customs celebrated across latin america as we taste authentic drinks and indulge in delicious sweet breads that are essential parts of this beautiful celebration. These treats symbolize the love and memories we hold dear, and they help keep our loved ones’ spirits alive in our hearts. 🍹🍞

The celebration will take place at Elemento - 65 South Public Square. We will be creating a warm and inviting space for everyone to gather, share stories, and pay tribute to those who came before us. Whether you’re new to Dia de los Mu***os or have celebrated it for years, you’re welcome to join us for a meaningful day of community, reflection, and cultural appreciation.

In addition to the festivities, we invite everyone wishing to honor their loved ones more personally to bring a picture of their deceased family members or friends. These pictures can be dropped off on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 PM to 5 PM to be placed on the community altar, creating a collective space of remembrance and love. This altar will serve as a beautiful tribute where everyone can reflect on the lives and memories of those they hold dear.

Let’s come together to celebrate life, remember loved ones, and keep their spirits alive in our hearts and community.

It was fun! Glad to be a partner.
