🏦 2026 WORLD'S STRONGEST BANKING BRANDS: VIETCOMBANK RANKS 3RD GLOBALLY
Brand Finance has just released Banking 500 2026, ranking the world's strongest banking brands. Vietnam has one representative in the global Top 5.
This is more than a media headline. It reflects the level of trust the international market is placing in Vietnam's banking system, an intangible asset that carries real weight in capital raising and strategic partnerships.
→ Vietcombank scored 95.3/100 on the Brand Strength Index (BSI), ranking 3rd worldwide, behind only BCA (Indonesia, 95.9) and JP Bank (Japan, 95.5)
→ Vietcombank's brand value rose 7% to USD 2.5 billion, placing it 134th globally by absolute value, while retaining its AAA+ rating, the highest awarded by Brand Finance
According to Alex Haigh, Managing Director Asia Pacific at Brand Finance, Vietnam's banking sector is "no longer just growing, it is compounding trust at scale."
For years, Vietnamese banking brands were largely recognized within the region. This year's results signal a different phase, as 13 Vietnamese banks now feature in the Banking 500, with a combined brand value of USD 14.7 billion, up 13% from 2025, while MB, Techcombank and BIDV also rank among the world's Top 100 strongest banking brands.
For investors and businesses, brand ranking is a positive signal, but it does not replace proper due diligence on a partner's actual financial strength before entering into cooperation or transactions.
So what is really behind this number? Vietcombank's brand strength is backed by solid financial fundamentals, with total assets exceeding USD 85 billion and a market capitalization above USD 20 billion, proof that this recognition is grounded in substance, not just marketing.
