Facebook is splitting its home feed into two tabs -- what could this mean for your business page? 🤔
Updates to the home feed can potentially ✨ improve your content reach ✨ and get your business in front of new audiences. As Facebook transitions into a "discovery" engine, the primary tab will serve users personalized recommendations based on what the algorithm thinks they're interested in as soon as they open the app. Meanwhile, the secondary feed will feature content from the user's friends and the pages they choose to follow.
This change shouldn't impact advertising on Facebook, as ads will continue to appear in the feed. However, there is a potential that your video content could go viral if it gets enough engagement and send the right signals (e.g., related topics, locations, related engagement, etc.) to Facebook's algorithm.
Changes will roll out starting today and are expected to be completed in about a week. These changes will come to the desktop site later this year.
This change is promising 🤞, and we can't wait to better understand what this update means for businesses in the coming months! 🙏
