Can we be honest for a second?

At my own job, AI is changing by the day. It feels like every week there's some new tool, some new way of doing things. Fast.

And here's what I've come to believe: that's okay. Actually, it's exciting.

You don't have to know everything. You don't have to be "techy." If you can ask a good question, and you can think for yourself, you already have what it takes. That's it. That's the whole secret.

That's exactly why this community exists — not to bury you in buzzwords, but to help you get comfortable, stay curious, and get ahead of the curve instead of getting left behind by it.

So come hang out with us. We're running a free class, and I'd genuinely love to see you there.

Let's have a real conversation about how AI is changing your work — and how you can stay a step ahead of it.

No pressure. No experience needed. Just bring your curiosity. That's what we're here for.

Unlock your family's creativity, confidence, and real-world AI skills with DataGuy Academy

05/20/2026

DataGuy AI Academy is getting ready to launch classes after school gets out, and we’re inviting families to reach out now if they want to be part of the early group.

We’re building a hands-on AI Academy near Lakeland High School where kids, teens, and parents can create with AI instead of just watching others create.

Students will work on real projects like games, websites, AI art, stories, 3D worlds, VR concepts, and mission-based learning inside a safe, monitored environment.

Our goal is to create a local “third place” for Arlington families who want a fun, creative space for technology, learning, and building together.

Message us now to get details, ask questions, or join the early Alpha Team before classes officially begin.

Big things are happening at **DataGuy AI Academy**, and we wanted to give everyone a quick update.

We recently opened our first local space near **Lakeland High School**, and we are building out a hands-on AI Academy for kids, teens, parents, and families who want to learn by actually creating.

Our goal is to create something Arlington does not really have yet — a local “third place” for technology, creativity, AI, games, storytelling, problem-solving, and family learning.

Arlington has sports, restaurants, school events, and plenty of places to go, which is great. But we also believe families need a place where kids can get on computers, be creative, make games, build websites, write stories, explore AI, and learn how to create instead of just watching others create.

That is what we are building.

The Academy will include a mix of structured classes and open lab time, where students and families can work on real projects such as:

* Websites and apps
* Game development
* AI art and design
* Storytelling and world-building
* 3D printing and robotics-style projects
* Problem-solving challenges
* Virtual reality experiences
* Mission-based learning activities

One of the biggest things we are building is our own **3D AI game world**, where students will eventually be able to learn, explore, complete missions, answer questions, solve problems, discover secrets, build with AI, and even help improve the game they are playing.

Several concepts we are working toward:

**Mission-driven learning** — point, click, learn, answer questions, and solve problems.
**Game-driven exploration** — run, discover, complete quests, challenge AI, build, fly, and upgrade.
**Build with AI** — kids and adults working together to build parts of the very world they are learning inside.

Everything is designed to be monitored, safe, hands-on, and family-friendly. Parents, kids, and instructors will be learning and building together.

We are still in the early Alpha stage, which means we are moving fast, testing ideas, improving the experience, and building with the families who join us early.

The official class schedule will begin after school gets out for summer break, but we are already inviting families to get involved now so they can help shape the program from the beginning.

No prior experience is needed. We will help students and parents learn how to use AI, how to talk to it, and how to turn ideas into real projects.

We are excited about what this can become for Arlington. Our goal is not just to teach AI once and send people home. We want to build a local creative technology community where families can learn, build, and grow together.

If your child is interested in AI, games, websites, storytelling, technology, VR, creativity, or just building cool things, now is a great time to get involved.

We are excited, moving fast, and can’t wait to start building with our community.

Message us if you would like details or want to be part of the early group.

What a fantastic night! The kids built 3D worlds, composed their own music, and created videos. Enrolling in our summer camp is giving them a real head start, and Mike Frame and Richard Romine can't wait to see where they take it next. Will they build their own websites? Write a storyline and develop a full video game? Produce an entire album of original music? The possibilities are wide open.
Our next open house is this Thursday, April 23rd. Every student who attends is entered into a raffle to win their own PC.
And if AI makes you nervous, here's my take as a cybersecurity professional with 15+ years in the field: every colleague I work with is either using AI or will be soon. I've never leaned on creative and critical thinking more than I do now. AI prevents burnout and closes knowledge gaps — it doesn't replace the thinking, it amplifies it.

Give your child the advantage of AI. See you then!

Good morning Arlington and Lakeland friends!
We are SO excited — open house is finally here! After all the planning, we can't wait to open our doors and show you what we've been building at DataGuy AI Academy.
Our AI Academy runs all summer long, and these open houses are 100% free — a chance to come see what it's all about with zero pressure.
Families of all ages are welcome! Kids will get to hang out with other kids and our instructors, and learn how to make some seriously amazing things. Right now we're putting together a fun demo on the Top 10 Cybersecurity Events using AI video creation — it's going to be a blast.
We teach kids (and adults!) how to use the right tools — the kind of skills that can actually help land an internship down the road, whether that's in cybersecurity or any field really. Our goal is simple: find out what you or your kids are into, and then help activate that creativity. Now is the time to get plugged in while everything is still so early!
👉 Save your spot for May 5th — it's filling up fast!

Hey Everyone,

We are excited about the soon approaching Open House dates at the Arlington Abbey. Just a reminder the dates are April 20th, April 23th, April 28th, and April 30th. I would recommend signing up for April 23th as we are filling up that fast.

I thought I'd share a little bit about what we are doing.

---But first, the backstory

Over the past few years running Floats R Us, I’ve had the chance to meet a lot of amazing families around Arlington.

For those who don’t know—Floats R Us is my bounce house business. My partner, our four kids, and I are out there together setting up for birthday parties and fun events. I’m usually out there jamming music, being my goofy self, and just enjoying the moment with the kids. I genuinely love being around them—seeing their excitement, their energy, and just letting them have fun.

But something unexpected started happening along the way…

Conversations.

I started talking with parents and kids—asking simple things:
👉 What are your kids into right now?
👉 What are they doing for fun?
👉 What do they think about AI?

And the answers are all over the place.

Some kids are stuck on tablets, just consuming.
Some want to be streamers.
Some want to create, build, and do more—but don’t really have the environment to do it.

And parents tell me the same things:

Some programs are too strict—kids can’t be kids or connect
Others have no structure—kids get distracted and don’t build anything

And honestly… they’re both right.

Now here’s a little about me…

I’ve been in cybersecurity for almost 16 years.
I’ve always wanted to do something meaningful with kids—but until recently, it just didn’t feel possible.

Because teaching this kind of stuff used to take YEARS.

But now?

AI changed everything.

These skills—building apps, creating games, designing systems, thinking like engineers—
They’re actually teachable to kids now.

And not just older teens…

This new generation can do things that would’ve been impossible before.

And I’m telling you—when you hear about how powerful AI is…

👉 I’m going to show you exactly what they’re talking about.

We’re not just talking about “screen time” anymore.

We’re talking about:
🎮 Building games in Roblox, Minecraft, &3JS World
🌐 Creating apps, websites, and digital worlds
🎥 Making videos and content with AI
🖨️ 3D printing and designing real objects
🕶️ Exploring virtual reality
🧠 Taking your childs idea and turning it into something real
Teaching children how to be safe with AI and instilling AI Prompt safeguards. Safeguards on the games they play and on the games they create.

There's more!

We have structured learning modules as well that we are developing. Totally brand new cutting edge ideas. This is just the beginning.

This is about unlocking imagination.

So now, when I meet a kid, the first thing I ask is:

Instead of asking what they want to be when they grow up, I ask,

👉 “What are you into right now?”

Because that’s the starting point.

Whatever they’re doing—gaming, watching videos, drawing, talking, building…
I want to take that and help them turn it into something bigger.

Something creative.
Something real.
Something they’re proud of.

It’s no longer just a tablet…

It’s creating something WITH that tablet.

It’s finding other kids with the same energy, the same curiosity, the same drive—and building something together.

That’s what we’re creating here.

A place where kids:
✔ Learn by building
✔ Make real connections
✔ Feel like they’re part of something special
✔ Actually WANT to come back

This is something new.
And it’s starting right here in Arlington.

If we’ve met at an event, you’ve probably seen the energy already.
If not—I’d love to meet you.

Come check it out. Come have a conversation.
You’ll feel it.

One last thing I wanted to mention, if you are a parent and you want to be a part of what we are building to help with our open house, reach out to me! Perhaps your kid wants to start creating things now? We need kids that want to help develop content for the other kids. That's the best way to learn. The demand to join the open house is high! We have over 150+ families interested. But we are in great need of helpers prior to the event. If your kid wants to help us make our games better, contribute to our website, or just want to talk about AI, reach out to us.

Have a wonderful Monday evening!

– Richard (Spaceman)
