Yes, yes I do!!

Remember: as a designer, you are a problem solver.

New challenges with clients using generative AI in ways that hinder the design process — these are challenges you can solve.

This does not need to be your new normal. You don’t need to roll over and succumb to AI. You don’t need to close your design business and look for a new career.

Maybe in the past you’ve dealt with clients not getting their website copy in on time, clients ghosting, not paying invoices, asking their mom’s friend’s dad for design feedback. Clients who will “know it when they see it.”

For every difficult client situation, there are boundaries and processes you can adapt to prevent it from happening again.

And it’s the same with AI.

These new AI-related challenges, they don’t mean your design business is doomed. You just need to put some new policies in place.

It’s about how to set and maintain strong boundaries, successfully and smoothly, for anything in your design business.

You can’t add AI clauses to your contract and put AI-related policies in place without having a strong overall design process.

This training focuses on AI, yes. And I’ll be showing you how these important policies and communications fit into my bigger-picture client process.

AI-related contract clauses are only one small step needed to actually prevent your clients from using AI in ways that hurt your design process (generating design feedback, filling in questionnaires, etc.).

Proactively preventing these things requires new boundaries and communications. Early, clearly, and consistently.

As a designer, when you’re repeatedly experiencing difficult client challenges, the advice is always to “put xyz in your design contract.”

And yes! You definitely want to do that.

BUT that’s not the only thing you need to do.

The problem won’t be fully resolved until you integrate strong policies and communications into all phases of your design process.

And THIS is what you need to do if you really want to prevent your client from using AI to send design feedback, fill in questionnaires, and make logos.
