We just uploaded what is hopefully the final phase of code review by the WordPress plugins team for our Stream Player by Netmix (free), an open-source persistent audio player plugin for WordPress®-powered websites. We broke this out from our Radio Station PRO product as a stand-alone player. Want to test out the beta? Go to https://github.com/netmix/stream-player, download the master .zip file, install it, and test it out for yourself. You'll need to bring your own stream URL with either an Icecast, ShoutCast, Live365, or Radio.co stream. We do not host streams due to music licensing issues. For those of you with other streaming partners, we'd love it if you can test with our player and let us know if your stream works or if it doesn't so we can look to support as many stream hosts as we can. The future website for our PRO version will be streamplayer (dot) PRO.

It's been reported by a number of our users when getting started with their audio streams in Radio Station PRO that a stream will not play in our persistent audio player bar or widgets. This happens when a stream URL starting with HTTP forces a mixed content error in the browser. Browsers will display mixed content errors in the Console for media assets like images, documents, audio, and video if they are not uploaded to a site secured with HTTPS....
