Copy That has decided to stay open so we can focus all day on providing assistance to The Resistance. So... Friday is a good day to call us with your ideas for protest signs, banners, stickers, magnets, and info cards (educational leave-arounds).

It’s also a good day to shop in our store. $1 off all protest materials. If not-shopping is hard for you, and you really need to scratch that itch at least let it be for a good cause.

We love our democracy ruled by The People, guided by The Constitution, and powered by Workers.

Happy Fourth of July!

Everyone here at Copy That wishes you a safe and patriotic holiday! After yesterday’s events in our store we especially celebrate our freedom of speech and the freedom from tyranny which Independence Day promises.

On July 3rd a customer was being a bit demanding and had a course impatience in her manner. We typically have happy and lovely walk-ins. But sometimes folks are off-kilter. Our staffer was handling her with grace (like usual).

Then she (the customer) noticed the 86–47 stickers for sale on our counter. She interrupted our staff to angrily say “You know these are illegal, don’t you”, as she jabbed her finger at the pile of stickers.

Our staffer was dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say. She stammered a bit then said, “Well, we’re going to sell them anyway.”

The work got wrapped up and she left in a huff.

We debriefed it together as a group, like we do after any difficult experience with a customer. We praised our staffer for her poise and honesty. We agreed the stickers are not illegal.

An hour or so later the same customer returned. She came in looking panicked. She quickly snapped a picture of the stickers. Then she swang her camera around to take a few more photos inside the store, and quickly exited — without responding to our attempts to ask her if we could help her.

If there’s more to the story, it hasn’t yet happened.

We at Copy That are grateful for the freedom of speech ensured to us by the Constitution’s first amendment. Today we also celebrate our country’s history of resisting tyranny.

America did not begin when the Constitution was ratified. Our country began when the people resisted the king. We celebrate the early politicians who threw down the gauntlet against the tyrant King George. They founded our nation with a dagger against tyranny.

In the spirit of a united community of Free People, Copy That strives to serve everyone with grace, regardless of their political views.
