This email type scam/fraud is going around to people in many different variations, and we want to make sure end users are aware of changing-current tricks. This fake email type of fraud-fakery seems to be the latest source of people clicking.
Quickest, easiest way to tell is look at the actual email address that sent that to you.
They all appear similar to this format.
Just an fyi to share some of the most common current email scams.

As most of you are aware, the email scams are endless, and try many ways to get you.
We've noticed an increase in phishing attempts targeting our web hosting customers (their email address on the website), including emails and messages that impersonate our brand.
We want to make sure you know how to spot these scams and keep your account secure.
What the scam may look like
Email phishing attacks are getting creative. They might claim:
●Your domain is about to expire and needs urgent renewal
●There's an unpaid invoice requiring immediate payment
●Your hosting account has been compromised and you need to "verify" your login
●Your email account is expiring, click here to renew.
The emails often look convincing, complete with our logo, professional formatting and design, but include links to fake websites designed to steal your credentials or payment information.
How to protect yourself
❗ Think before you click: Before clicking any links or buttons, point and hover on them to check if the address they link to is really the one you see displayed in the message. If it's not the official SiteGround domain, then don't click it.
❗ Double-check the URL: Before entering any login details, always verify if the domain name you have been pointed to in your brow. Scammers use lookalike domains like "classiccitytech-billing∙com" or "classiccitytech-accounts∙net", etc.
❗ If you receive an urgent email about your account, don't click the link. Instead, contact us.
❗ Check your Webhosting Client Area dashboard: Legitimate issues with your account, domains, or invoices will always be visible in your hosting dashboard if you are one of our clients that do their own changes.
❗ Look for red flags: Urgent language, threats of immediate suspension, and requests for sensitive information are classic phishing tactics.
❗ When in doubt, reach out: Contact our support team directly if you're unsure whether a message is legitimate.
I am sure by now most are aware of the fake billing scam emails.

Tip of the day.
Managing emails in Outlook.
I am sure you can imagine how much e-mail an IT firm that has existed as long as we have receives daily.
Of course we have some great spam filters in place on the mail server (and any clients of ours that use our Webhosting and/or email services) so the majority of them are caught. If not, you can directly log in the mail server via web portal, drag the spam into the junk email folder, and the spam system is trained by that. It will begin to recognize spam patterns, etc. You of course can also do blocking of entire domains there and many other things.

Enough rambling about spam, back to managing Outlook. 😁

Outlook (desktop version, 365 app, etc. not NEW OUTLOOK, do NOT use that program, it should be named something completely different, perhaps outlook express lite 11?) classic Microsoft calls it, versus "new outlook" which is free and loses a large amount of functionality.
We do sell permanent Office licenses, if you want a 'buy once and never get charged again' by the way.

So over time in this modern age, everyone gets a lot of emails, seldom people have time to manage them all, (of course you can create many message rules-subfolders that will increase management-efficiency as well, entirely another discussion)

We average probably 400 emails a day to staff that are pertinent to business in one way or another (monitoring or error reports for contracted Virtual IT clients are all reviewed) from clients, vendors, engineering projects, writing specs for a new building project communications back and forth, license renewals, name it.

Also inadvertently when you purchase something and they subscribe you to mailing list (yes we unsubscribe daily, but some slip by) and of course our distributors email us daily with stock updates, specials etc, that are indeed pertinent, it is overwhelming and email grows to an absurd size. All of this is stored in a .pst folder if you are using pop e-mail, or .ost if you are using exchange or many webmail (like gmail) with imap.

In the past old Outlook programs were limited in size to 8 gb maximum, then 10, then 20, and now its larger at 50Gb, which can even be increased with some registry editing.

So the best way we have found to quickly and efficiently manage very large amounts of mail is to sort by: From.
The picture is an example of 'normal' amount of emails often sent that build up over time to quite large.
This makes it easy to delete a massive number of emails quickly and efficiently, as you can select the column title in this case 'Walmart Black Friday' right click on that and choose delete, which in this case was thousands of emails.
