Important Security Notice

We want to make our customers aware of a recent cybersecurity incident involving Charter Communications (Spectrum), which is currently under investigation and has been publicly reported in the security community.

At this time, email addresses, names, phone numbers, and other contact information may have been exposed as part of the incident.

While we do not have confirmation that any customer accounts have been directly compromised, this type of data exposure can increase the risk of phishing emails, scam calls, and impersonation attempts.

What you should watch for:

Emails claiming to be from Spectrum, Microsoft, or other service providers asking for password resets
Unexpected login alerts or security warnings
Requests for personal or payment information

Best practices we recommend:

Change passwords on important accounts (especially email)
Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever possible
Do not click links in suspicious emails—go directly to the official website instead
Be cautious of urgent or threatening messages asking for action

Rebooting your phone helps disrupt many types of hacking tools, especially those that rely on staying active in memory. Advanced threats—like zero-click exploits used in attacks such as the Pegasus spyware—often don’t survive a restart because they depend on temporary processes rather than permanent installation. While rebooting doesn’t remove all threats, doing it regularly can break ongoing access, clear malicious sessions, and reduce the window an attacker has to stay connected to your device.

REBOOT your phone at the very least once a week. IMO
