The things we give our time and attention to have a way of growing.

That goes for ideas, relationships, and the work we care about, even when we’re still figuring out what it will become.

It’s something we come back to often at Cultivating Creative! Cultivate what matters. Nurture what you’ve started. Grow what you believe in. 🌱

There’s something about watching clay on a pottery wheel. It spins, your hands make the smallest adjustment, and the shape starts to change.

Too much pressure and it shifts. A lighter touch, a little patience, and you can guide it somewhere new. We love that part of the process: paying attention to what’s in front of you and letting the idea take shape as you go. 🤎

A website should help people understand what you do and feel ready to be part of it!

We had the opportunity to design a website for Big Brothers Big Sisters that brings its programs and mission into focus. The goal was to create an experience that feels clear, engaging, and easy to explore, whether someone is learning about the organization for the first time or looking for a way to get involved.

That meant thinking beyond how each page looks. We considered how visitors move through the site, where they might need more context, and how the design could give the stories and information room to speak for themselves. We also designed with both desktop and mobile in mind, so the experience carries through wherever someone finds it.

We’re grateful to have contributed our design work to an organization centered on the power of meaningful relationships. 💚

As fall approaches, I like to think about the leaves falling as part of the cultivation process. 🍂

After a season of growing, the leaves change, fall, and return to the earth, becoming part of the next season of growth.

Creativity works in much the same way. We cultivate ideas, nurture them, watch them evolve, and sometimes let go of what no longer serves us to make room for what comes next.

And when I think of September, I think orange. A warm, earthy color that feels like transition, creativity, and harvest.

If you’re considering orange for your brand, here are 5 color names to inspire your palette.

Growth doesn’t happen overnight. Whether you’re building a brand, creating something new, or stepping into your next chapter, plant with intention and give it time to bloom. 🌼

You can design the visuals and shape the message, but your audience ultimately defines your brand through every experience they have with it. Make every interaction worth talking about. ✨

What do you want people to say about your brand when you are not in the room?

Client spotlight 🌱 Meet C&T Counseling, a mental health practice dedicated to helping clients feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their journey.

We had the opportunity to design their website, creating a welcoming and easy-to-navigate online space that reflects the care behind their services. We loved helping bring their vision to life and watching their ideas take root.

While working with clay this week, I realized how much the process asks you to slow down. You cannot rush it or force it into shape. You have to work with it, stay patient, and trust your hands. It felt like a reminder that life is the same way. Not everything needs to be figured out immediately. Some things are still taking shape, and that does not make them any less beautiful.🤍

When you're shaping clay, the piece rarely becomes exactly what you imagined when you first sat down at the wheel. But sometimes, what emerges is even better than the original plan.

Design works the same way.🖌️

You start with a vision, but as you create, the process reveals opportunities you couldn't have planned for. The best ideas often aren't forced! They're discovered.

Maybe creativity isn't about controlling every outcome. Maybe it's about staying open enough to let the work become what it wants to be.⭐️
