Microsoft 365 Changes Are Coming for Windows 10 Users

Starting August 2026, Microsoft will stop adding new features to Office apps on Windows 10. While security updates will continue until October 2028, users will need to upgrade to Windows 11 to access the latest Microsoft 365 features.

📅 Key Dates to Know:

🔹 Aug 2026: Feature updates end for Personal, Family & Business users.

🔹 Oct 13, 2026: Enterprise Monthly Channel ends.

🔹 Jan 12, 2027: Enterprise Semi-Annual Channel ends.

🔐 Security updates continue until Oct 10, 2028.

🛡️ Major Windows Security Shift Coming

After last year's CrowdStrike update knocked out 8.5 million machines, Microsoft is working with top cybersecurity vendors — including CrowdStrike, Bitdefender, and Trend Micro — to redesign how antivirus and EDR tools interact with Windows.

Coming soon: A new endpoint security platform that moves AV and EDR tools out of the Windows kernel — a major step to avoid another system-wide meltdown.
