Today is the day. The day I was supposed to marry my favorite person under an oak tree overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains with my brother officiating in front of our immediate family. Like so many of my clients, I have to wait just a little longer but we still get to have that day. Lots of feels today but mostly I’m grateful for our heath and my family’s health.
Every part of this save the date is meaningful. My fiancé largely let me have my fun for this design but I made sure he was also loving the monogram and took his input and good eye every step of the way. The oak tree is the silhouette of the actual lovely oak tree we will be getting married under (🤞🏻 for good weather). The hexagon shape was significant both for my family/family business along with having met my fiancé on 🐝 😂😂. I wanted something a little more than a simple hexagon so I started playing with the shape until this frame emerged which gave me a little more geometric fun with a slight nod to mountains. Laser cut suede envelope liner with our monogram embossed and wax seals because why not. Laser cutting and assembling this guy was a labor of love and I am just crazy about the whole thing.
This design came together with the help from many parties. Thank you to for permission to use this beautiful photo of hers as a big part of the design. I loved this photo so much and as I was trying to come up with something unique for my own save the dates (no pressure being a designer right?), I kept coming back to this photo again and again. It became the inspiration for the whole suite and challenged me to play with a lot of colors. I knew I wanted our monogram in rose gold foil pressed into that photo and the rest of the suite came together from there. Shout out to my favorites for the most amazing print job ever (just wait to see the invitation). And last but not least, I adore work as much as I adore her as a human so adding her calligraphy was just the cherry on top for the whole suite. ❤️
