Atlanta BDPA BDPA is a global member-focused technology organization that delivers programs and services for the professional well-being of its stakeholders.

The Atlanta Chapter of BDPA was founded in 1981 by a group of dedicated African American IT professionals. The chapter was founded to improve networking opportunities and increase the technological awareness of its members through educational programs. The Atlanta Chapter exists to serve its members and the community.

Calling all BDPA Chapters! BDPA SITES is bringing the heat with an exciting lineup of technical competitions designed to challenge and inspire our young innovators. Get ready to showcase your skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in the following competitions:

๐Ÿ’ป High School Coding Competition (BDPA SITES Instructors) โ€“ This competition provides students with hands-on experience in web development, programming, and project delivery.

๐Ÿ›  STEAM Blitz Competition (A Hand in Learning, LLC) โ€“ Participants will engage in hands-on challenges using JavaScript test simulators, robotics, electronics, LEGOs, and the Engineering Design Process.

๐ŸŽฎ Esports Competition (STEAMSport, LLC) โ€“ BDPA chapter teams will design and develop their own video game to compete in an Esports tournament.

๐Ÿ“ข IT Showcase Competition (BDPA SITES Instructors & YAHWEH Enterprises Outreach LLC) โ€“ College and high school students will present research on advanced computing and technical topics, showcasing their knowledge and innovation.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: NBDPA 2026 - 2027

Nomination Deadline: Saturday, April 14, 2025

BDPA is looking for individuals interested in making their voice heard to effect change for the betterment of the technology profession. If you are one of those individuals, or know someone passionate about driving BDPA to a higher level, please consider submitting a nomination to join the National BDPA Board of Directors.

Per its bylaws, the National BDPA's Board Development Governance and Bylaw Committee (BDGBC) is seeking BDPA members to serve on the Board of Directors of the National BDPA, with a term beginning on January 1, 2026 and ending in December 31, 2027. The BDGBC is now accepting nominations for National BDPA positions. Per the National BDPA Bylaws (dated August 18, 2023) Article 5 Section 1, nominations for the following national offices must be submitted no later than midnight on Wednesday, April 14, 2025:

- President
- Vice President
- Vice President of Finance
- Regional Vice President (4)
- Regional Director (4)

Also, per the National BDPA Bylaws Article 12 Section 1, proposals for amendments to the Bylaws must be submitted no later than midnight on Wednesday, April 14, 2025.

Any BDPA member in good standing may submit names, including their own, into nomination electronically via the National BDPA portal from Saturday, February 1, 2025 to Monday, April 14, 2025. Chapter delegates will vote for the final candidates during the Delegates' meeting on August 15, 2025, in Atlanta, GA during the national conference.

Board of Directors members must maintain full membership status to be elected and serve. Candidates should be willing to spend up to ten hours per month participating in committee work. It is preferable if applicants have:

1) at least one year of experience serving as a chapter officer;
2) have been a member of BDPA for at least one year; and
3) be familiar with the bylaws of the national association.
