As a Collection Specialist at MCB you will be responsible for contacting consumers in order to negotiate payment arrangements on aged or high balance debt while following federal, state, and client collection guidelines and laws. You will be under general supervision and will perform established procedures of moderate complexity. We offer paid and extensive training in order to get you informed of all the rules and regulations set by the different clients we service. We want you to get on the phones quickly however making sure you are prepared and comfortable is our priority.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Represent company with professional and ethical work standards consistent with the mission of the company
• Show a strong eagerness to learn, grow, and partner with consumers and teammates for positive outcomes to all situations
• Negotiate payment terms and methods when right party is reached. The negotiation process often requires reviewing the account information in database, and/or asking probing questions of the consumer in order to better understand potential objections to payment
• Overcome objections and suggest money sources for debt payment
• Execute verbal skip tracing procedures when non-right party is reached. This includes asking for home address, home telephone number, and place of employment
• Update the customer records with new information.
• Utilize payment options (credit cards, checks, etc.)
• Negotiate settlements when permitted by client. Negotiate payment arrangements based on income and circumstances
• May advise management regarding collection strategy effectiveness for various portfolios
• Adheres to all FDCPA, FCRA and applicable laws
• Perform duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or higher (required)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, utilizing proper grammar and telephone etiquette, with customers and coworkers
• Ability to partner with individuals and overcome objections making it difficult for them to repay a debt
