We're proud to have sponsored lunch at the 34th Annual Play for a Cause Golf Tournament, benefiting the Kennebec Valley YMCA! ⛳

Even with a little rain, golfers, volunteers, and supporters came together for a great day on the course and helped raise more than $14,000 to support YMCA scholarships and programs.

We believe in what the Y does for our community: creating access to healthy living, personal growth, connection, and belonging for kids, families, and individuals across the Kennebec Valley. It's an honor to stand alongside an organization that works this hard to remove barriers and open doors for our neighbors.

Our team spent Monday on the course for the United Way of Kennebec Valley's 56th Annual Golf Scramble, presented by Charlie's Family of Dealerships, and we were proud to serve as a lunch sponsor.

Matty, Ethan, Devon, and Ryan braved the heat for a great cause. The tournament raised more than $25,000 for Kennebec County neighbors, which United Way says translates to things like 15,000 meals through a local food bank, 962 gallons of heating oil, and after-school programming for 41 teens.

Congratulations to Ethan, who took home the On the Green prize in the raffle drawing. See you on the course next year!

Big news from the JSM team! We've officially earned SFI® Chain of Custody Certification, adding to our long-standing FSC® certification.

For nearly 80 years, J.S. McCarthy has called Augusta, Maine home. As a 100% employee-owned company, we take pride in doing things the right way, and that includes being responsible stewards of the materials we use every day.

This certification means our customers can trust that the paper and packaging materials running through our presses are sourced and tracked according to internationally recognized sustainable forestry standards.

We made history — again.

J.S. McCarthy just set a new world record for folding carton production, printing 569,220 net sheets in just over 30 hours on our Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 (21K) — breaking our OWN record from just one year ago.

During our best 24-hour stretch, we hit 460,149 sheets, topping last year's 429,000. We ran through 210,000+ pounds of board (that's five full trailer loads!) with just 0.5% waste.

This record is the result of incredible teamwork — from our press crew working across shifts, to our partners at Heidelberg North America and Smurfit Westrock. As a 100% employee-owned company, every one of our team members has a stake in results like this.
