As we reflect on the highlights of 2023, it's clear that a tidal wav of change swept through the data center industry, particularly in the realm of cooling solutions. From the emergence of liquid cooling as a prominent topic at industry conferences to the growing consensus around innovative direct-to-chip systems, last year marked a significant shift in thinking. Excited to see how these advancements continue to shape the future of data center technology!

A look back at 2023: The analysts were right. All eyes focused on liquid cooling to meet the greater server densities and higher compute performance of modern data centers.

Accelsius continues to strive for the most energy-efficient and sustainable solutions for cooling data centers. This paper experimentally compares the thermal performance of R134a to a low-GWP alternative. The findings reveal that environmentally friendly alternatives do exist with abilities to cool high-performance CPUs and potentially next-generation GPUs.

We can't stop the growth of AI, but we can limit the impact on energy consumption. Liquid cooling can significantly limit the growth forecasted by McKinsey in recent Insider article. https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-data-energy-centers-water-energy-land-2023-10

"By 2030, data centers are expected to reach 35 gigawatts of power consumption annually, up from 17 gigawatts last year, according to McKinsey. A recent Cowen research report estimated that AI data centers could require more than five times the power of traditional facilities."

Data center building complexes are changing the face of rural America, using tremendous energy, and delaying some utilities' shift away from fossil fuels.
