Everything is Perspective
A while back, we were out to dinner with friends when someone asked, "How do I get rid of the dandelions in my yard?"
I curiously asked, "Why would you want to get rid of them?"
Then, I sat back and listened as she explained how it begins with just a few dendelions but when they seed, one gust of wind and the entire yard is filled with dandelions.
Oh, I understood this more than she realized but my answer surprised her. I said, "I remember as a kid, making dandelion wishes. We'd pick the dandelions and make a whish as we blew the seeds into the air."
As I talked, she smiled and nodded as she remembered doing the same.
She decided to welcome the dandelions and be grateful for dandelion wishes.
I thanked her for sparking a memory.
The moral of the story: If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
This isn't only true with dandelions. Being open to different perspectives can strengthen relationships, inspire new ideas, spark a memory, and even help you move past fears that have held you back or kept you stuck.
Has changing the way you looked at things ever inspired you, sparked a new idea or memory, or given you the courage to move forward?
