𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗱?

Gold's lackluster performance over the last few years has been one of the market's biggest mysteries. Gold has long been seen as a safe place for investors to put their money during times of war, inflation, global instability, and economic trouble. Now should be the time for gold to shine.

But since the financial turmoil starting in March 2020, gold has only gone up +16.65%. On the other hand, Bitcoin is up +178.7% during the same time period.

Why?

Two possible explanations:

1. The fast rise in interest rates could be one reason for gold's underperformance.

2. Paper gold markets continue to keep the price of spot gold low.

Due to how easy it is to take self-custody of Bitcoin and how much its price changes, these games don't work well with Bitcoin. Gold is still being pushed down by paper gold, and there doesn't seem to be any way out.

This is yet another reason why Bitcoin is better than gold.
