At its core, sacrifice is inherently an act of selflessness. It may not bring to mind the shinier aspects of service. Things like glory or heroism. But for our veterans and active duty military across the armed forces, this is part of life.

This and every Veterans Day, we honor our veterans and military service members, well as their families. Their victories large and small, as well as their collective sacrifice.

At Workrise, we are proud to boast veterans amongst our ranks, both in the office and in the field. And we wouldn’t be where we are today without their knowledge and experience.

Every November, we take time to reflect on the commitment and sacrifice of US military service members and their families. With deep personal connections to the military through her family, Tasha Berry-Stanton’s commitment to supporting this community shines through both in and outside of Workrise. As Tasha puts it:

"My connection to the military is personal: my husband is currently active duty in the Air Force, and both of my grandfathers served in the Navy. We are currently stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ, which is home to the world’s largest aircraft boneyard.

As a military spouse, I have witnessed firsthand the daily sacrifices made by military members and their families. This experience inspires me to give back in meaningful ways. In my local community, I have the privilege of mentoring veteran business owners and guiding them in their marketing efforts.

At Workrise, as Chair of our Veterans ERG, I strive to create an empathetic and safe environment where members can connect, share their stories, talk about their challenges, and celebrate their wins. I know how vital it is to have a listening ear and a support system, especially when facing challenges like relocating for the next assignment—just one example of what military families navigate. My goal is to cultivate a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable sharing and seeking support from one another, knowing they are not alone in their journey."

Tasha’s dedication to her role and support for our Veterans ERG exemplifies the culture we are working to build; creating an inclusive environment that champions empathy, resilience, and a shared purpose. You might read this headline and think "Broken? That's a strong word."

But when we talk to both operators and suppliers, we see a different picture. A picture where competitive bids are siloed in email inboxes, and often reserved only for big ticket items.

Where suppliers have to jump through hoops to decode an RFQ, before jumping through more hoops to get onboarded and get to work.

Where on both sides of the aisle, valuable mindshare is pulled into the minutia of gathering quotes or manually digging up historicals, and away from the things that matter.

Bidding is the opening gambit in the source-to-pay lifecycle. An opportunity to start on the right foot, and an opportunity that is so often missed the way the industry works today.

Great write-up from Procurement Magazine covering the findings from our inaugural study capturing the state of in energy.

This problem us much larger and more pervasive than most realize. By way of example, only 30% of leaders say their company is “highly efficient” at managing the S2P process across all the teams it touches, and almost 40% of industry leaders lack the real-time spend data and reporting that is essential to proactive spend and project management.

With added focus on and everything it touches, operators have a massive opportunity to reduce costs, and maximize the impact of every dollar operators spend in the field.
