New work. The studio was asked to create this flyer for a friend’s basketball event earlier this month. Had an interesting time creating this one, because for the first time ever, for us anyway, the image was built entirely using AI.
Prompts were used to key in the visuals, a little trial and error was implemented to achieve the aesthetic we were going for, and out of the 10 or so images that we generated, this one was our clear favorite. As we looked at it more, the energy reminded us a bit of the painting “The Sugar Shack” by Ernie Barnes. We know this image well because of another image it inspired. The title typography from that album was also referenced for the flyer, again, as an homage to something important that came before and lending some cultural reference and relevance.
The flyer was distributed digitally, loads of people came out, and it was an incredible event! The format was also equally special, with 3 unique modalities all running in parallel. 5v5, 1v1 & 2v2, as well as a jump shooting contest put on by
