What if a single dashboard could transform the way you run operations—and save thousands every month? 💰 (Case Study)

One of our recent projects did exactly that for a commercial construction company, and we couldn’t be more excited about the results. Let me walk you through it. 👇

This company was drowning in operational inefficiencies—think outdated spreadsheets, endless email chains, and lost hours across multiple departments trying to track budgets, schedules, and vendor payments. 🤯 They knew they needed a smarter way to stay on top of it all, but building an internal solution wasn’t feasible. That's where we stepped in. 🦸‍♂️

After understanding their workflow challenges, our team at GCN built a custom dashboard tailored to their needs. This wasn’t just another dashboard—it connected their project timelines, budgets, and vendor systems into a single interface. The results? Game-changing.

Here’s a glimpse of what happened next:

🔹 Time saved: Their project managers used to spend 20+ hours a week compiling reports. With automated tracking and real-time reporting built into the dashboard, that time is down to just 3 hours—an 85% reduction.

💰 Direct cost savings: By automating vendor payments and approvals, we uncovered hidden discrepancies that were bleeding over $120,000 annually. Those errors are now a thing of the past.

📊 Increased visibility: With all project metrics in one place, leadership now makes decisions 50% faster, avoiding delays that previously cost them thousands in penalties and fines.

The impact? This construction company is now projecting a 15% increase in profitability over the next 12 months—just by running leaner operations.

At GCN, these are the kinds of partnerships we love—bringing innovative solutions that solve real problems, unlocking efficiency where others see complexity. 📈

If you’re curious about how a tailored approach could unlock similar gains for your business, let’s connect. Sometimes, the right dashboard is all it takes. 👥

In what ways do your images communicate value to your customers?

What and how you create your visual content is incredibly important to how you are understood and appreciated both online and offline. Here are five ways your images are affecting your business:

Poor Quality Images

Currently, the vintage vibes are curated and sought after in imagery. From grainy, film-style photos to retro sepia-toned images, vintage is in and highly favored—but only if it is done on purpose. If you are shooting content with a camera that regularly produces photos that are grainy, out-of-focus, or disorienting, your potential customers will lose interest quickly and relate your low-quality images with your company.

Unrelatable Images

If you are out of touch, your customers will know within seconds based on your visual content. You will have seen many organizations have a public reckoning after years of non-inclusive imagery and verbiage across their platforms. Your customers want to see that you recognize them and their community in your imagery, where applicable, so that they can see themselves engaging with you. This also applies if you never update your message to fit the cultural climate. Have the meanings of colors or symbols changed in the national eye? Have you recently become an international company and now must rethink the global implications of your branding? Your public consumers expect you to consider and research these things and reflect that intellectual investment in your images.

Confusing Images

You may use blurry or incomplete images to slowly reveal or create anticipation for a new product or service, but if your intention is to be clear and you are accidentally creating confusing images, this can do more damage than you think. Images are often accompanied by a written caption online, but that doesn’t mean that your audience is reading that caption. Remain thoughtful about your images and how they are constructed.

Pilfered Images

This one is not always as obvious as you would think. Because images are in such high demand to conduct business online, there are a multitude of websites and creators who sell the images they create to businesses. Make sure that the images you use are images that you own or are images that are open to being used by the public. Also, when collecting images for customer testimonials or re-sharing posts on social media, be sure to ask for permission and be clear about how that permission is requested and granted so that you are not taking what does not belong to you.

Offensive Images

When you are in a public space taking photos, are there other buildings or people around that may appear? Are these other entities doing, wearing, or carrying something that would not be beneficial in the photo? Every image should add value to your organization, or it should not be used.

"The malware toolkit, known as Pipedream, is perhaps the most versatile tool ever made to target critical infrastructure like power grids and oil refineries.

On Wednesday, the Department of Energy, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the NSA, and the FBI jointly released an advisory about a new hacker toolset potentially capable of meddling with a wide range of industrial control system equipment. More than any previous industrial control system hacking toolkit, the malware contains an array of components designed to disrupt or take control of the functioning of devices, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that are sold by Schneider Electric and OMRON and are designed to serve as the interface between traditional computers and the actuators and sensors in industrial environments. Another component of the malware is designed to target Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) servers—the computers that communicate with those controllers."

We'd love to manage your SEO, but don't mind sharing information for those who like being hands on. Here is what we recommend:

1. Start with preparation and research.

There is no substitute for knowledge. So if you plan on fixing your SEO problems first you need to make sure to know what the problem is, what tools are available, and how to use those tools.

2. Website Performance

A website performing well is like a finely-tuned car. This possibly starts with the hosting partner you choose and where your site is sitting. We’ve partnered with AWS to make sure your website has the proper host scaling and distribution capabilities. Having a Content Delivery Network (CDN) allows your website speeds to increase dramatically. Depending on expected traffic, it’s important to have an auto-scaling and load-balancing plan in place. Minification of CSS/JS is also a huge boost in performance.

3. Images and Videos

With your website code tightened up and your hosting backbone optimized, you can focus on the front-facing aspects of your website. Using tools to make sure your images are compressed, lazy-loaded, and property tagged is uberly important. High-quality and engaging videos are an important aspect of any SEO strategy as well. Keeping people on your site and answering their questions will go a long way.

4. Content, Content, and more Content

No need to try and trick the algorithm, produce content that your target audience is looking for. Be a resource that they can share and will deliberately look to for your particular industry. When you produce content make sure it’s not only on your site but on sites that your audience will also be at. Allow them to find your website through other guest sites that your content is partially on. This includes social media but goes far beyond.

5. Inbound and Outbound Links

Having good authoritative links coming back to your site is a tried and true way to increase your ranking positioning. The more sites reference material on your website, the more Google will notice. This does not mean that all links are equal or even good. Trash link-building strategies should be avoided at all costs. It is also important to link to other sites of authority from your site.

6. Directory Standardization

Make sure your website information, company name, and address show up accurately in all relevant industry directories. These are going to be where people look for services like yours. If it’s Yelp, Google My Business, or the thousands of others, have a full profile with conforming information.

AI in banking isn’t new. However, the adoption has been seemingly moderate in comparison to other large industries. Many banks are still manually entering data, filling forms, reconciling transactions, and consolidating general ledgers.

As banks are becoming more technological, they are enhancing many day to day activities in compliance, fraud detection, customer service, all the while reducing labor costs across the board.

This provides a competitive edge over other financial institutions that do not embrace change.

GCN works with several banking institutions to integrate many new technologies. Feel free to reach out for more info.

Imagine that you created a website and never updated the template. You did not add your branding, logo, or even your company name. This is what so many companies do with their expensive software and technology. There are so many ways to customize your software to accommodate your branding and your company processes that are included free of charge with your subscription package.

Typically, with a paid subscription, you can add your branding to your cloud-based software. Companies like Slack and Google allow for points of branding to give your software suite a professional touch. It may seem like a small thing to put effort towards, but it can make a much-needed difference as employees work from home and begin to need to separate their personal slack channel from their company account.

Plug-ins are another, often ignored, point of customization for many platforms. Plug-ins can streamline processes by utilizing automation. Being able to pull contacts from Gmail or have messages or directions sent directly from Slack to your phone is part of the wonderful magic of plug-in automation.

So far, we have talked about the ways you can customize software platforms, but if you want to take things a step further, you can have custom platforms created for your business.

"The San Francisco-headquartered firm announced Wednesday that it is adding trains, buses, planes and car rentals to its U.K. app this year. The move is part of a pilot that could be expanded to other countries at a later date if it goes well.

While Uber won’t provide these travel services itself, it will allow users to book them through its app following software integrations with platforms that sell tickets.

The tech giant, which may take a cut on each booking, said it plans to announce various partners in the coming months."
