Branding work for a grassroots ATX council race last fall. This campaign had a lean budget, and the candidate entered the three-way race late. When we were offered this project, we deliberated: we really liked Casey Ramos but knew the odds were against him, so was it ethical to accept this work? In the end, we decided that creating a dynamic, powerful brand for this community leader, former pro boxer, and southeast Austin native son would bring out a significant number of the working class voters struggling to be heard in this rapidly gentrifying area. We wanted the better funded candidates to understand, you can NOT ignore these constituents. In the end, Casey came in 2nd, beating out the initially favored, real-estate industry supported candidate who raised almost 20 more $ than Casey, Way to go Casey, way to rep your neighbors and family in District 2! We were proud to be part of your fight 👊
