🎊The new year is upon us! 🎊

As we welcome 2026, we also welcome hazardous winter weather across our country. From blizzards to wildfires, weather emergencies are complex and continuously changing.

The new year calls for new technology to tackle these safety challenges. With RapidDeploy’s advanced Next Generation 911 (NG911) infrastructure, first responders are able to respond to emergencies more efficiently and safer than ever before.

Our newest blog explores how RapidDeploy helps in extreme weather emergencies by:

📱Extending Intelligence to the Field: Moving data from the comms center to the field so responders are up-to-date with the latest information.
📍Pinpointing Precise Locations: Finding callers when landmarks are obscured by snow or smoke.
🔍Providing Visual Clarity: Utilizing RapidVideo to see live conditions on the ground before units arrive.
🗺️Sharing a Unified Operating Picture: Coordinating multi-agency responses through real-time Map Markups.

911 gets a call - there’s a critical emergency at the local elementary school.

You’ve never been there.
You’re told to go to the gym.
It’s near the art room.
By the west stairwell.

But without a map, where do you start?

That’s the reality for many first responders and that’s exactly why our partners at Critical Response Group (CRG) created detailed indoor school floor plans that integrate directly into RapidDeploy’s Radius Mapping and Lightning platforms.

These Collaborative Response Graphics give responders the power to pinpoint exactly where they need to go—even in buildings they’ve never stepped foot in.

When RapidDeploy and CRG technologies come together, first responders have access to:

📍 Real-time caller location
📍 Live responder tracking
📍 Verified building layouts

With over 20,000 K-12 schools mapped, this partnership is helping agencies across the country respond faster, smarter, and more confidently.

Honoring our Q4 2025 Superstar Award Recipients!

Last week, we had the privilege of awarding four courageous telecommunicators from Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1, Alisha Cooper, Kim Newsome, Alaina Ramage, and Chad Spain, with our RapidDeploy Superstar Award. Today, we share more about their heroic efforts with you.

On March 7, 2025, telecommunicators at KSP Post 1 received numerous silent phone calls from a pregnant female who was unable to verbally communicate that she was in the middle of a high-risk, domestic violence incident, and was trapped in a moving vehicle with her assailant. Combining quick thinking with RapidDeploy’s advanced NG911 technology, telecommunicators were able to establish contact with the caller via SMS chat, gain a precise location, and ultimately bring the caller and her unborn child to safety.

This is a powerful reminder that the expert skills of telecommunicators, amplified by modern NG911 tools, are what make the difference in a successful emergency response.

📱 Approximately 80–85% of all 911 calls are placed from wireless phones.

But mobile doesn’t always mean locatable—unless you have the right tools.

In Arizona, telecommunicators used RapidDeploy’s Radius Mapping feature, RapidLocate, to find callers fast in two critical moments:
🚨 A Phoenix Fire Department telecommunicator pinpointed an ATV crash victim in remote desert terrain—avoiding a costly helicopter launch.
🚨 A Salt River PD telecommunicator tracked a moving vehicle during a domestic abuse call—without the caller ever speaking a word.

🎥 Watch the Arizona Save Stories video, where RapidLocate helps telecommunicators turn uncertainty into action and minutes into moments that helps save lives with RapidDeploy.

⚡Workforce Status in Lightning⚡

Did you know that when responders have a sense of autonomy and control at work, there is less turnover and role abandonment?

With Lightning’s newest feature enhancement, Workforce Status, field responders are given control over their location visibility - establishing trust and transparency between responders and agencies.

Workforce Status allows field responders to update their location status - choosing between On Duty, On Break, and Off Duty. This feature provides agencies with precise location data, gives field responders privacy and autonomy, and empowers a safer, more efficient emergency response.

On December 1, we had the honor of presenting the Q4 2025 RapidDeploy Superstar Award to four incredible telecommunicators from Kentucky State Police: Alisha Cooper, Kim Newsome, Alaina Ramage, and Chad Spain.

Their teamwork and quick thinking helped save a pregnant caller trapped in a moving vehicle using Text-from-911 and RapidLocate to silently communicate with the caller and track the vehicle in real time.

This lifesaving coordination is a clear demonstration of teamwork and a testament to the transformative role modern NG911 technology plays in emergency response. This team is profoundly deserving of recognition with the RapidDeploy Superstar Award.

👏 Join us in celebrating these quiet heroes behind the scenes.

⚡️ New in Lightning ⚡️

Field responders can now update their Workforce Status with a single tap–choosing between On Duty, On Break, or Off Duty.

This new feature gives teams more control over when their location is shared, and keeps everyone aligned in the field.

🔄 Status updates are instantly visible to other logged-in users.
📍 Location only shares when you’re marked "On Duty."

Built for transparency. Designed for smarter response.
Location awareness that works when you do.
