OM5 is the next generation of fiber. Specifically designed to handle high-speed data center applications using two fibers to transmit up to 100GB's. Its multiplexing design allows OM5 to dramatically reduce parallel fiber counts. OM5 is capable of notably faster data transmissions for longer distances with less loss than OM3 and OM4.
