Throughout history, Halloween has been a night dedicated to freedom and self-expression for q***r people. In cities like San Francisco as early as the 1940s, it became one of the few moments when LGBTQIA+ folks could step into the streets and celebrate their q***rness, without the fear of arrest or police harassment.

That’s why many have called it Gay Christmas, because it was a rare holiday where q***r people could be themselves with their chosen family.

Today, we honor that history of resistance and continue the tradition of being loud, vibrant, and proud of our q***rness in the face of adversity. Happy Gay Christmas everyone. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨
