I've said it before but it's worth repeating. If you are thinking about buying a Mac because you think they don't get infections, you're wrong. I was setting up my guaranteed virus protection for a new customer and it detected an infection that I was able to safely remove. If you're interested in guaranteed malware protection for your Mac or pc, let me know.

Delmy's mother's car hit by hail and all 4 Windows blown out song with many others in the parking lot in Metairie where she lives. I'm thinking tornado not no damage to that building or any others around it so maybe just wind, but hail accompanies tornados a lot of the time.

For the tech enthusiasts out there, we know the reason SSD drives are far superior to mechanical drives in performance. But, Seagate just came out with a 14TB mechanical drive to tribal ssd's with transfer rates of 524/MBs compared to 550 for SSD. How is that possible you ask? They use a 12 gbps interface instead of 6 and the drive has 2 actuators.

Do you think it's about time they develop a drive with 2 actuators or maybe 10 yrs too late... What took so long? Still may be the best choice if price per gb is still much lower than SSD for storage.

Wouldn't you like to see the inside of one of these babies. I didn't search yet but am curious how the actuators are mounted... On opposite sides or next to each other or what.... Not an awful lot of room in there. Heads are one thing but we're talking about the actual actuators arms that the heads are attached to. How do they not bump into one another. Interesting tech.

The UK is considering making it illegal to make ransomware payments to criminals that have hacked their computers. That would mean some businesses may have to shut down if they can't access their data plus some criminals are resorting to blackmail. They are threatening to distribute client or customer data or releasing embarrassing information if it is found on their system.

One thing that can drastically reduce the threat is multiple backups that use revisioning and to follow my best practices for web browsing and email usage and to use the protection I offer that has eliminated the threat of malware since I've begun using this particular solution.

New Scam!!!

Actually just a little variation of an older one. I peach all the time to all my customers not to click on links or open attachments in email. Not, should you call any number in an email. The safest thing to do is to call a number you know if it is someone you are associated with and verify if the email was sent by them. Apart from that, if you were expecting an email from them, you're somewhat safer, otherwise my strong recommendation is not to open, click or call.

The new variation is you revive and email condemning a subscription you have or don't have, it is expiring and your card will be automatically charged some larger monthly amount say $90. You call, they direct you to a website to unsubscribe, them ultimately you will be instructed to download a file, Word, Excel whatever. Then if it's a Word file, you will be told to click on "Enable Macros" so you can digitally sign off that you want to unsubscribe. The macro will contain malware that can cause all sorts of problems including stealing any information they want.

I also tell my customers a phone to me is quick and easy and may save you a tremendous amount of trouble and only take a minute for me to advise you on what to do which I am currently not charging for that phone call. Can't tell you how many customers have clicked on bait before calling.. calling or texting is so much easier. If you don't have my contact info, let me know.
