Getting a text saying you owe money for an unpaid toll?

Do not tap the link.

Open the official toll website yourself and check there. Scammers use urgency, added fees, and threats of penalties to get people to pay before they stop and think.

A good rule:

Unexpected payment text? Verify it somewhere else.

Share this with someone who might need the reminder.

The FTC and FBI have both warned about texts impersonating toll agencies and recommend verifying through contact information you already know is legitimate.
