Some of the hoops we have to jump through just to pickup containers/return empties. Now it’s a full time job to merely get appointments just to keep working, as there are never enough appointments so an employee literally needs to sit and refresh, refresh, refresh with hopes that one pops up. Tedious to say the least, not to mention it has become a full time job, and is costing us more money. Common sense would say add a queue to auto reserve when someone cancels. But that’s not the case. The terminals/steamship lines have little interest in adding efficiencies for the truckers. The intermodal business is far more challenging than it should be because of the lack of support from both the ports and steamship lines. FACTS.
