A Little Texas Pride at ISTC Baytown!
We’re proud to unveil a new mural in the ISTC Baytown facility, created by the incredibly talented Suzette Broussard!

Located in the hallway across from our Computer-Based Training Lab, this bold Texas-inspired piece brings color, energy, and a whole lot of Texas pride to our facility.

Every day, workers walk these halls to train, build their skills, and prepare to do their jobs safely. We love that they’ll now be greeted by a little reminder of the pride we have in our state and our community.

WEATHER CLOSURE NOTICE ⚠️⛈

Out of an abundance of caution and with the safety of our employees, customers, and community as our highest priority, ISTC will close at 12:00 PM today, Tuesday, September 1, as we continue to closely monitor incoming severe weather conditions.

We encourage everyone in our Southeast Texas industrial community to remain weather-aware, use caution, and prioritize safety as conditions develop.

Please plan accordingly for any training, testing, badging, or other services scheduled for this afternoon. Our distance learning platform remains open and operational.

ISTC is headed to Nashville! 🎸
We’re excited to be exhibiting at the VPPPA’s 2026 Safety+ Symposium, August 30–September 2 at the Ga***rd Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Safety+ brings together safety professionals and industry leaders from across the country to share ideas, learn best practices, and strengthen workplace safety.
If you’re attending, come see us! Stop by the ISTC booth to meet our team, learn more about our safety training and other services, and talk with us about how we can help strengthen your safety culture.

With 17 years of experience as a firefighter, EMT, Rope Rescue Instructor, and safety professional, Eric brings a wealth of real-world emergency response experience to ISTC. As an Instructor III and CPR Instructor, Eric is passionate about one thing: helping others succeed.

“I love sharing knowledge and helping new employees grow in the safety culture.”

From CPR and emergency preparedness to safe work practices, Eric helps our students build the knowledge and confidence to respond when it matters most.

Outside of ISTC, Eric is all about family, friends, and firing up the grill!

We’re proud to have Eric on the ISTC team and grateful for the experience, dedication, and passion he brings to every class.

Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees and award recipients. Safety is the foundation of everything we do, and we’re honored to recognize the companies and individuals who continue to make safety a top priority across our industry.

We’re grateful to our Facility Safety Team for their leadership and dedication in guiding this program, the ISTC and GTBR Boards of Directors for their continued support of this important initiative, and the companies who participated in the Expo and showcased their commitment to safety.
