The story behind Voices of Independence is just as important as the finished film.

Go behind the scenes to see how BCRC participants took an active role throughout the production — helping with interviews, equipment, filming, and other aspects of the creative process.

Along the way, participants gained hands-on experience, built new skills, and helped tell the stories of the Beaver County community in their own way.

🎬 Beaver County Voices of Independence

Through the voices of the people who call it home, Voices of Independence celebrates Beaver County’s history, character, and community — and explores what independence means as we look toward America’s 250th anniversary.

From Fort McIntosh and the steel industry to the history of unions, this documentary looks at where Beaver County came from — and then turns toward what makes it special today, including art and culture, education, community pride, and the qualities that make Beaver County such a great place to call home.

We’re especially grateful to BCRC for trusting us to bring this story to life. Even more importantly, BCRC participants were directly involved in the production, helping with filming, equipment, and interviews throughout the process.
