Do not provide personal information (SSN, DOB, banking details, copies of ID, etc.) before you have received and signed a legitimate offer letter.

Legitimate employers will provide access to a secure web portal (not email or text messages) for any sensitive onboarding information.

If anyone asks you to email or text sensitive data, that is a major red flag. Please contact Bellevue Coders ASAP so we can report the company.

Unfortunately, some bad actors are using “job offers” to commit misrepresentation and, in more serious cases, wire fraud or identity theft.

If you come across a suspicious job posting or are asked for personal information improperly, please contact us directly. When companies are confirmed to be fraudulent, I report them through the appropriate channels, including coordination with federal authorities in the Seattle area.

Let’s look out for one another and keep our community safe. Make sure you have multi-factor authentication enabled if you suspect someone is targeting you or your business. When enabled you must provide another code or authenticator to login.
