Welcome to RadioSet-GO, your source for unique, trail friendly QRP radio designs; simple, efficient, portable, and attractive all-in-one low power CW transceivers. Whether you want to communicate across town, or across the ocean, RSG can help you with a radio that is easy and fun to use - at home, or even better, outside; at a park, hiking or camping. Amateur radio is an amazing hobby, but who wan

ts to be stuck inside on a beautiful day? It's time to carry your HAM shack in a backpack! Get active and relax in the sun, breath fresh air and enjoy a beautiful view while communicating with people in distant lands (or even at sea) using your low power radio transceiver. You will meet people near and far. Those who are curious will certainly ask you what you are up to, so expect some attention where you set up. RSG designs are ideal for casual enjoyment, but are also suited for emergency situations as 'go-kits.' The enclosures used are water resistant and solar charging can be integrated. I know from the experience of outdoor operating that the less there is to take along, the easier and faster it is to set up, with less chance of forgetting something. With these radios, the only extra equipment needed to make contacts is a resonant wire antenna, or antenna/tuner combination. set......... GO!

After some testing and slight changes, updated circuitry is in house and ready for production.

Updated Capacitive Touch Key circuit design in the works. Functionally the same as the original version. Slightly more compact. Works with a wide voltage range of 3-16VDC, meaning it is suited for retrofits etc., and as a standalone key with a small 3V cell. Adds LED power and touch sense indication. Optically isolated outputs, very low current draw, excellent responsiveness, good RF immunity. Stay tuned. https://radioset-go.com

Last year, a co-worker friend and I went out to Silicon Valley for training in AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) programming, which is my primary day job now. While we were out there and had some free time, he introduced me to one of his favorite hobbies; disc golf. We went to a shop in the area to get a few discs in order to play, and something caught my attention in the store: a metal telescopic pole that extends to 16' with a threaded tip and forked attachments used to retrieve discs stuck in trees, bushes etc. As a ham you know just what I had to do! It's almost the perfect length for a quarter-wave vertical on 20m as-is, it just needed a little wire added to lower the resonant frequency, a way to mount it, and a counterpoise wire. After cutting some PVC pipe, installing a BNC jack, attaching a ground screw, and with a little tuning, I came up with a fairly portable, very easy to set up antenna with ~1.1:1 or better SWR across most of the 20m band. From my little knowledge of antenna theory, I think that the wider lower sections of the whip helps increase the bandwidth. It works very well! If this inspires you to experiment with making your own, great! If you are interested in purchasing one built and tuned, I plan to have them available on my website soon. https://radioset-go.com 73, Hanz W1JSB

RadioSet-GO is finally back in business! After 1.5 years of a difficult change in family situation and several moves, I have established a new workshop and can continue designing/building. Lots of ideas for new retrofits, particularly the Icom IC-705, upgrades, and other products are in progress. I'm catching up with a few orders including the KX2 retrofit seen here. https://radioset-go.com has had a few updates, but stay tuned for more in the near future. 73 Hanz W1JSB
