Yesterday was Children’s Day… but of what use is celebrating when the children are not safe?

We have seen stories of children abducted on their way to school. Children beaten by captors. Children harmed by people they trusted. Children disappearing in places that were supposed to protect them.
And every time it happens, the same fear spreads through homes across the country:

“What if this was my child?”

The systems we believed would protect us are struggling. Parents are worried. Schools are anxious. Communities are becoming more alert because people no longer feel guaranteed safety.

The government has a responsibility to protect citizens, especially children. That responsibility matters. But while many systems continue to fail, families and communities cannot afford to wait helplessly.

We must become more intentional about protecting the children around us.
