Big rumble just got even bigger.

Our latest Firmware Updates for both the M64 console and controller are officially live.

You can update your M64 console over WiFi by navigating to the Menu’s About tab and selecting Check for Updates. You can update your M64 controller with our online update tool.

Here is everything included in the release, along with a quick roadmap update.

Controller Update 0.12.0

• Wireless Rumble: Fully enabled Virtual Rumble Pak in this release (requires updating your console as well).

• Wired Rumble & Accessories: Improved Virtual Rumble Pak performance in wired mode, and accessory swapping settings now persist across power cycles.

• Joybus Reliability: Major stability and performance improvements.

• Wired Controller Fixes: Resolved random wake events and connection state issues.

• General Stability Upgrades: Additional underlying controller performance fixes.

Console Updates 1.24.3

• Audio Improvements: Enhanced 48kHz audio output compatibility.

• Display Preference: Auto now shows the display’s preferred resolution. We’ve also added a way to select between 50 Hz and 60 Hz, if your display supports it.

• Fixes & UX: Fixed “Forget All Controllers” debonding, resolved network menu overlaps, updated wireless connection animations, and overall system stability fixes.

What’s Next

• We’re excited to share the first batch of open-source exports for M64. Today we are releasing the mechanical and electrical designs for M64 Console and Cartridge. This is just the start. We’re looking forward to continuing to release more over time. You can find these files on our website.

• Wireless rumble support for 8BitDo controllers is currently in testing and will be coming in the next firmware update.

• We’re also working on upgraded video filters and saved advanced video settings for an upcoming release.

• Additional updates will follow as we continue working through our roadmap!

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon - and if you need extra help with your M64 console or controller, head over to our support center.

The M64 Pro Controller is familiar in shape, but different in design from any other controller you’ve ever owned.

Its cool-touch aluminum back shell won’t flex no matter how hard you squeeze.

Easily swappable magnetic TMR thumbsticks that never drift or degrade.

Your choice of wired, rechargeable, or AA battery power options.

And hiding underneath the textured semi-transparent front face: a brand new wireless module supporting Bluetooth SCI (shorter connection intervals) that completes our promise of delivering the fastest, longest lasting, most unreasonably ambitious N64® controller ever made.

At the center of M64 is a 16nm AMD Artix UltraScale+ FPGA, the most advanced processor ever used in a retro console.

If you’ve spent any time in Game Boy® collecting circles, you’ve heard of ZAS. You’ve probably never played it.

Chikyū Kaihō Gun ZAS launched in Japan in December 1992 and never left. No North American release. No European release.

A small run of cartridges have become one of the most sought-after titles in the entire Game Boy library.

Collecting games is cool, but playing them is better. You should play ZAS on your Chromatic.

That’s why ModRetro is bringing it back, re-releasing the long lost classic on Chromatic.
