I had the pleasure of looking at K2 (28,251ft) and Broad Peak (26,414 ft), two of the tallest mountains in the world with my own eyes. Thanks to my great friend for organizing this amazing trip and to Jesse for coming along with me. I told myself if I look at K2 and it doesn’t scare me, I will start training to summit it. I have immense respect for the mountain but it didn’t scare me, so training starts today. For all my awesome clients and friends who left me sweet messages and words of encouragement while I’ve been away, thank you. Your words meant more than you know and I am eager to come back home and share stories with you all. I’ll be back in office on Wednesday August 3 and will reach out to all of you who left emails and messages about repairs you are still waiting to get done. Thank you again for all your patience you all rock! Can’t wait to see y’all! Ps: if there is any training or guidance that you think will help me summit K2 I am all ears!! It’s time I take responsibility as a member of the smartphone industry to talk about excessive use of your smartphone. Turn on “Screen time” and monitor yourself. Look and analyze the data provided to you to see how much time you spend on overloading yourself with information vs using your smartphone as a tool. It actually starts with understanding when you are using your phone for entertainment vs work vs learning. Your smartphone will provide you with information of how many notifications you are getting, how many times you’re picking your phone up in a day. Just like budgeting, this isn’t fun, but it is important to know how much time you are spending on using screens and how you can budget your time better. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to TRY not to use your phone (or any other screen) 2 hours before going to bed. Yes, it’s not easy, I know. However, it’s worth trying for one night to see if you sleep any better. And if you can push yourself a little bit more, try not using any screen till 2 hours after you get up. This is an unorthodox thank you note. I love fixing smartphones because it’s all about problem solving and coming up with solutions that work for our clients. I like challenging myself mentally and repetition is my least favorite thing when it comes to work. So, a big thank you to all you funny people! Y’all break your phones in the most entertaining way possible! My all time favorite broken phone was from a guy who got so mad he bit into his phone screen multiple times! 😂 what’s the craziest way you’ve broken your phone? Note: I don’t think Miss Montgomery falling from the stairs was funny by any means but that phone was hella bent and was very entertaining to work on!

CLOSED OCTOBER 4th - OCTOBER 15th for Wilderness First Responder Training. I will be back in office on Monday, October 18th. When I’m in the mountains I feel at home. At the end of almost every hike, my friends and I often wonder “what did I do right to deserve this?” I have this intense desire to give something back to the land and to this community, which has led me on this journey to get certified for wilderness first responder. I hope no one ever gets hurt up in the mountains but if God forbid you do, and I am there, I will do everything I can to help you get down safe and sound. In the two weeks that I am out of office, I apologize for any inconveniences caused as far as smartphone repairs go. I will see y’all very soon! 🤘

The short version: If you see me out on a trail, stop me and say Hi and I’ll make sure you get 20% off on your next phone repair : ) The long version: I have met a client or two on every hike that I’ve been on in the past two years in Central Oregon. It’s such an awesome feeling to know I live in a community where everyone likes being outside! This weekend I met two clients on my way up to summit Middle Sister and on my way back down I couldn’t help but smile at how awesome that was. I remember I met a girl at the top of South Sister with a broken phone and told her I fixed phones and she actually showed up to my store to get it fixed! I’m friends with her to this day! So since y’all are awesome and since we share the same feeling about being outside, next time you see me out on the trail, say Hi and I’ll make sure I hook you up with a discount for your next repair. Why? Because you’re awesome for being outside.
