OneDrive is poison. It's a ticking time bomb.

If you buy a new PC, or reinstall Windows, uninstall it before it has a chance to move your files to the cloud.

If you have it now, go into settings and tell it to keep ALL of your files locally. Give it time to re-download them.

THEN UNINSTALL IT.

Windows updates quietly turn on OneDrive without a plain English warning.
Your files don’t get “backed up.”
They get moved.

Your computer becomes a temporary access point.
Microsoft’s servers become the primary copy.

Then the trap snaps shut.
