Picture this: an inspector finishes checking a property and, instead of heading back to the office to file paperwork, they’re already on the way to the next site. Notes, photos, and updates are logged right there on-site and instantly shared with the whole team. No delays, no backtracking—just more time to focus on the work that matters.

That’s the difference mobile inspection apps are making for inspectors and the communities they serve.

We get it: a resident calls to check on the permit they submitted weeks ago. But behind the scenes, that request is buried in a platform that doesn’t talk to your other systems. It’s one of the most common workflow challenges—permitting, licensing, inspection scheduling, and citizen complaints all living in separate, disconnected tools.

Here are 5 more common challenges, and how to turn them into wins: https://getsdl.com/resources/blog/turn-these-5-common-workflow-challenges-into-wins/

Southern communities are no strangers to storms—but in recent years, they’ve gotten stronger, more frequent, and harder to predict. When severe weather hits, local governments often need to shift quickly to online services to keep operations running and residents safe.

That’s exactly what Lambertville City had to do at the start of the pandemic. Faced with a public health crisis, they brought their forms online fast to protect staff and residents.

Their story is a reminder: whether it’s a virus or a hurricane, having digital tools in place gives governments the flexibility to adapt fast when the unexpected hits.

We're spotlighting Thomas Lukasiewicz this month! Our very own Software Engineer is focused on one thing: building tools that make life easier for local government staff in the field. Think building inspectors and code officers who used to rely on paper forms—now they can file reports, take photos, and sync with the office, all from a mobile app he helped create.

He’s driven by the impact his work has on real people, helping public servants do their jobs more efficiently and with less stress. Simplifying complex workflows into something intuitive and reliable is what he does best.

When he’s not developing solutions, you’ll likely find him out on a hiking trail or exploring new ideas through books on personal growth and investing.

We’re lucky to have Thomas on the team!
