We would like to apologize for our recent lengthy outage from Thursday morning and continuing with some issues still ongoing. We've never experienced an outage as long as this and we understand your concern and frustrations.

At approximately 10am on Thursday we received an email stating that in an hour we would receive a DDoS attack that would disable all services unless we sent a payment of money to a specified bitcoin address. The attack started an hour later around 11am. We immediately contacted our upstream providers and notified them of the attack, which they were well aware of at that point due to the size of the attack it was also taking down a large portion of their network as well.

The attack is very large and is still ongoing as of today 06/15/2026. Our providers started filtering and cleaning the traffic as best as possible, which also requires them to limit and block certain traffic in order to get at least some services back up and running. In doing the filtering it will disable and block certain services and/or locations that could be used to continue or amplify the attack.

No data has been breached or compromised, the attack is simply being used to try and extort ransom money.

We are currently experiencing a network outage from our fiber provider and are working with them now to get everything back up and running. I will update as soon as possible

We are currently experiencing an outage around the hancock area, our fiber provider is reporting --

We are currently investigating a potential fiber cut impacting customers in the areas of Hagerstown - Martinsburg and Cumberland.



We are getting the appropriate crews engaged for troubleshooting, but at this time we do not have any further information or ETTR available.

We are currently experiencing an outage to customers in Needmore, PA. We are working to resolve, appears that a piece of equipment has failed on sideling hill that connects out to the tower in Needmore. I'll update as soon as we have it resolved.

Update on connectivity to Berkeley County area customers:

Due to the storm on Saturday night our Comcast fiber connection went down around 9:30pm and took until around 4:30pm on Sunday for them to repair.

Since that time we have seen the connection drop numerous times per day for short periods of time.

They are sending out a technician this morning to troubleshoot the issue and hopefully repair it fully. I would expect that they may have to disconnect it several times as they work on fully resolving. I'll post further updates here as they progress.

We just had a large storm pass thru Berkely Springs which has knocked out power at our facility, however the generator started and we are up and running without issue.

We use Comcast to connect to the Martinsburg/Hedgesville area and they appear to be down currently probably from the power outage. I don't have an ETA yet on their time to repair, but I'll update as soon as possible.

We currently have an outage at Cacapon mountain, working on it currently. No ETA on repair, will update as soon as possible

Shentel is currently having fiber issues, which is causing issues to certain towers. Currently the following towers are offline due to this outage:

Cacapon Mountain
Purslane
Hancock
Apple Orchard
Terry's Taxidermy
Paw Paw

I am working to get an ETA from them currently and I'll update the post as I get more information
