Kavamore Press specializes in custom design and letterpress. No 2 projects are the same, as no 2 clients are the same. Everything is 100% custom.

Armed with a rich art practice, 20+ years of graphics experience, 20 years of letterpress savoir-faire, and several pairs of discerning eyes, they find fun letterpress projects that reflect the people they work with. This is the charm of working with a small letterpress studio.

Autonecrophile film poster: a collaborative letterpress poster for our niece, Maxine Sizemore’s short film that recently released as part of her Senior Thesis at Maryland Institute College of Art. Poster design by Thea, carving by Patrick and title typography by Michael McClean. Congratulations Maxine on your film & BFA in Animation degree. Welcome to the art world!

Added bonus of working at 18 x 24, getting creative on our sign press with Sintra carved plate and excuses to pay a visit to to print on ‘s Vandercook 219 with polymer plates. Great Fun to hang out with pals printing🥰

For those curious about the film, it features numerous animation sequences and live action. I’m including a picture of the life size co**se “puppet” used for filming/animating on display at the MICA Art Walk exhibition and picture of Maxine (in stellar co**se inspired makeup) and proud auntie at graduation.

We wanna introduce you to someone special, Michaela Sabin Hinds! She is a postive energy joining Kavamore Press - she brings with her a digital media arts degree from University Nevada @ Reno, a love of graphic design and letterpress (including some time at at UNR). She is helping hold down the StoreHouse WTF hours, getting to all the things Thea “meant to do but never had time for”, lending a hand with design & letterpress projects, being the best “Jacqueline of all trades” and has terrific taste in music! And did we mention she is a delight! Come by during WTF Hours to welcome Michaela to the fold!

Grab 15 of your favorite people and spend a 4 hour session at Kavamore Press for letterpress printing fun. AND support ‘s fundraiser.

Thea Sizemore, press proprietor, will guide you in developing the perfect activity for your group - could be a poster, greeting card, notebook with printed cover or something else meaningful to the group. All printing supplies will be provided. Instruction will cover typesetting, design as collaboration, press operation and encourage working together. No letterpress printing or other art/design experience is required.
