Drum Roll, Please! I got to work on the layout and some of the design work for Prairie Prince's upcoming album "Colours and Passions" which will be released next Friday, March 20, 2026.
After a lifetime behind the drums for some of rock’s most iconic acts, Prairie Prince steps into the spotlight with his debut solo album, “Colours and Passions,” from Label 51 Recordings. The ambitious project—ten years in the making and featuring 50 musicians across 14 tracks—pays homage to spoken word legend Ken Nordine’s landmark 1966 album “Colors.”
The debut solo album by acclaimed drummer Prairie Prince. Described by journalist and author Joel Selvin as the "latest expression" of Prince's "supreme artwork," this deeply personal project involves 10 years, 50 musicians, 20 drums, and 14 tracks.
It is noted to take up where the original record by spoken word legend Ken Nordine left off. Prince weaves together tracks named for different colors, giving them life through drums, percussion, and spoken word.
The album features guest appearances by a number of celebrated musicians, including Todd Rundgren, Buckethead, Jello Biafra, Ross Valory (Journey), Hugh Cornwell, and fellow members of The Tubes: Michael Cotten, Roger Steen, and Rick Anderson.
The 2 LP set comes with a 16 page booklet featuring Prarie's art and lyrics; the CD also includes an extensive 32 page booklet.
