Day 18 - Candy Kangaroo

I was excited to have the opportunity to make a mascot-esque logo during this project. I decided to have some fun with the coloration for the candy part of the name so that I could focus on making a clean and powerful looking kangaroo mascot.

Day 17 - Swirly Cupcakes

I’ve wanted to do a word art style logo like this since I first started this project. I really love how it came out!

I think this design succeeds in being highly merchandiseable. I always have a goal with each design that it be something a random 20 year old might take and use if it's a free sticker offered by the business. The best advertising is free advertising!

This logo will definately be in the final presentation at the end of this project. I will be taking a select few of the logos I make throughout the month and create a full brand identity for each to add to my portfolio. Follow to see the rest!

Day 16 - Crescent Moon Font and Logo

Today I made a font. That wasn’t the plan. Lol.

Today’s prompt was ‘geometric logo.’ I wanted to do something with circles, possibly with the name Crescent Moon. I started my front search and everything I came across was illegible, or only free for personal use. I seriously considered purchasing a few of the fonts I came across and I might in the future, but I decided not to for this project. So I picked my favorite elements from other circular fonts and I made my own.

It was after I finished making the font that I discovered Crescent Moon had the perfect number of Letters for a 3x4 layout. Honestly Love how it turned out!

If you’re interested in using this font, let me know! I can look into making it into a typeable font and make it available online.

Day 14 - Alice Signature Logo

Today’s logo is a signature. I kept this simple because the general premise with this sort of logo is that it feels personal and simple. The signature style of logo is most frequently used in creative fields, fashion design, jewelry design, and art for example.

To turn this signature from just a script font into a logo I decided to add a connecting arch over it that makes the entire design more round, more easily placed onto merchandise, profile pictures, etc.

Day 13 - Cloud Collective

Cloud media and storage services use a cloud icon fairly consistently from small businesses to large corporations. As such, I knew that if I was going to play into that for cloud collective I needed something else to set them apart. The use of several little clouds hinted toward this and to the ‘collective’ part of their name. However, the primary feature that accomplished this is the CC aspect of the logo.

Humans are attracted to patterns. Patterns make the world feel knowable and understandable, so our brains seek them out and have an easy time remembering them. If you put a dozen different cloud logos with different names and designs side by side people are more likely to notice the patterns and remember them more at a later time.

I love the color gradient aspect of this logo, and the strong line work would also lend itself to a highly recognizable black and white version of the logo as well.

Day 11 - TVON Airlines

I took the easy route for this company name and used a business name generator.

Meet TVON, a mock airline company.

I wanted this logo to look and feel like a flight in motion, so I decided to have the plane taking off from the logo, with visible propulsion. I also wanted the shading of the logo to look like the sun was shining on it, bringing up ideas of vacation destinations without taking away from the professional clean appearance of the overall logo.

In the base sketch I focused mostly on the form of the final pieces, working on the shading once I moved into Affinity Designer.

Day 10

This logo is technically a day late, but I think this final product was very much worth it. I have a deep love of tattoos and this project made me want to go get a new one. Just the research phase of this project took way longer than normal because I kept finding the coolest concepts that I wanted to toy with, for both this and other projects. Someone needs to keep me away from Pinterest for a while.

This concept started with the goal of a flame centered logo. I wanted to make something unique, and most flame centric logos have two things in common. They all look the same, and they are all for restaurants.

I employed the help of some friends in brainstorming other business types for this concept, because I was drawing a blank. It was my sister who recommended a tattoo parlor, and I knew I just had to do it.

I’m very happy with this final piece and think it really captures the feeling of a tattoo parlor, elegant and bold all at the same time.

For this logo I did not invent a business name to accompany it. This was primarily because this logo's primary function would be as an app icon for a musical streaming application, so no matter the name it would not be included in the logo itself. The final design came out in a style somewhat reminiscent of TikTok’s own logo color themes but still distinctly identifiable.

I chose the neon green and pink colors because I strongly associate these colors with music in my personal life due to the colors often flashed in pop concert type settings. Overall I think this one came out clean and once finalized will make for some fantastic promotional and merchandise mockups.

Day 8 - The Ridge Ski Resort

Some of my favorite memories are from ski resorts and ski resort towns so I wanted to have some fun with this one.

I spent a lot of time trying to come up with a name for this mock resort that felt right. I needed a name that felt edgy or intense and most of the names that first came to mind felt cheesy. So, I decided to keep it simple and focus more on a strong base design.

This design's strength comes from its merchandising capacity. The design is simple enough that it can be recognizable and readable in any color on just about any background while also being easy to print or embroider onto hats, shirts, or whatever else you might sell in your tourist shop.

The jagged feeling matches the intensity of the slopes and the vibe that skiers and snowboarders are often looking for. This one was simple and quick to make, but I feel really good about it overall. And it got some approval from some local borders before launch as well!
