What a day! Birmingham got a visit from Mandy Cohen, CDC Director. Never have I been more proud of two of my teams. First was when our ALAHOPE (alahope.org) project was mentioned by F. Darlene Traffanstedt, MD, who does the most amazing job for our county and state in the addiction space. Second, was when our CHIPSS application (used by Peer Support Specialists across the state) was mentioned by John Bayles, Program Director at the Recovery Resource Center, who leads a thoughtful, kind, and gentle group of folks who provide services to those seeking or in recovery.

We are forever grateful to our funders who allow us to do impactful and important work for the citizens in the state of Alabama.

The University of Alabama will require students and staff returning to its three campuses in the coming months to submit online health checks regularly and encourage them to download its contact tracing app, officials told Reuters on Thursday.
