Today, we gathered for cake, ice cream, and plenty of well-deserved celebration as we honored Linda on her retirement.

Linda's journey began in October 1998 with PBSI, and when PBSI joined the Vitis family in January 2022, we were fortunate to welcome her into our team. As a Client Success Specialist, Linda built lasting relationships with clients, supported her colleagues with kindness and care, and made every new connection feel welcome.

Her dedication, positivity, and genuine commitment to helping others have left a lasting impact on our clients, our team, and our culture. The way Linda cared for those around her is truly special, and it's something we'll miss every day.

Happy National Intern Day to Sam Lively, our Provisioning Specialist Intern!

Sam is currently attending the University of Cincinnati, where he's pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity. When asked to describe his internship experience, he chose three words: people, professional, and fun.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys building Gundam plastic models, showcasing the same attention to detail and problem-solving mindset that serves him well in the cybersecurity field.

ICYMI: Big CMMC changes dropped this month. Here’s what you might need to know.

The Department of War (DoW) recently paused Phase II CMMC third-party audits for a 60-day review due to a severe bottleneck (roughly 100 certified assessors for 100,000+ companies).
Headline says "paused," but don't hit the brakes on your cybersecurity strategy. Here’s what actually shifted:

- 🚨 What Changed: Third-party C3PAO audit requirements are on hold pending the review.
- 🔒 What Didn't Change: Self-attestation, NIST SP 800-171 scoring, and SPRS submissions remain mandatory for handling FCI/CUI.
- ⚖️ The Risk: False Claims Act penalties for inaccurate SPRS scores are being actively enforced.
- 🤝 The Primes: Prime contractors can still require subcontractors to be certified.

So...what does all this mean?

The Vitis Take: Keep building your controls and maintaining compliance. The only thing worth pausing is scheduling a third-party audit until we have clarity over the next 60–90 days.
