Wow, where to start? Lexington has been absolutely amazing. Great people, great businesses, and great times already.

In just a short time on Main Street, we’ve been fortunate to help several local businesses and residents with a wide range of needs:

- Repaired a new Wi-Fi network and security camera system for an antique store.

- Moved, configured and installed a printer in another building.

- Unlocked and recovered a Mac for a client that had been unusable for months.

We're back, KC!! 👋

Facebook locked us out for a few days after our home internet changed after 15 years, apparently that's suspicious activity now. Fun times!

While we were in digital timeout, my Mother and I took a trip out to Lexington, MO last Thursday. We joined our first Chamber of Commerce and met some really great people! Local business owners, shop owners on Main Street, folks who've been part of that community for years. Good conversations, good connections.

Looking forward to heading there Monday, getting more involved in the community, and helping local businesses with IT when they need it.

Sometimes the best part of this work isn't the technology.

Today, my family and I visited a few antique stores in Lexington, MO. But the point of the trip was to meet our friend, Al, who also owns his own store up there. When we met up with Al (on his birthday nonetheless!), he handed me a newer looking laptop and said "can we reset it?" Turns out, he'd been locked out and was ready to rest the whole thing. After a little memory jogging and IT magic, we got his PIN sorted and he was back in.

While my family browsed antiques, Al and I got to talking and it turns out he's also struggling with his Wi-Fi setup too. So, I'm planning on heading back this week to help get that sorted. I'm going to try and get some pictures, he's a hoot.

🔐If your password is “123456” or “password1,” congratulations, scammers love you.

Here’s how to stop making their day:

-Use 6-8 characters (10 or more if you’re feeling spicy)
-Mix letters, numbers, symbols (examples are, ! @ # $ %)
-Skip the obvious stuff (your name, birthday, dog’s name… unless your dog’s name is complicated.)

Pro tip:
Pick three random words like BananaChairMoose.
Add a number, a symbol, and boom! a strong password.

And please…
Don’t use the same password everywhere. If one gets hacked, they all do. That’s the digital version of leaving your car unlocked with the keys in it.
