A scary new scam is out there. It is from the "I.R.S." claiming there is a document you need to see and to open the attachment. The I.R.S. will NEVER send you a document by email to open. If you look at the Sender, it is from a "lawyer's" office and not the I.R.S. They always send emails from .gov or .gov. Click on the picture to see it better.

A very important tip for when you take your computer in for repairs. 99% of the time the technician will need your passWORD to do a complete repair. The passWORD or phrase is the first thing you enter in your new PC after your email address when setting it up. The PIN or personal identification number, is the 4 to 6 character number the PC allows as an easy to remember shortcut. There are certain processes that require the tech to have the whole harder to remember password or passphrase. Always write down your passwords when setting up any type of computer account. You can't remember them all. Just don't keep them under the keyboard.

Unfortunately, we have discovered the 24 years of service have taken a toll on our heath and we cannot stay open for business. We are going to retire and close shop at the end of March 2022. Why you should restart your computer every few days
I receive lots of tech questions every week, and there's one that gets asked on a regular basis:
"Is it ok to leave my computer running all the time?"
The answer is no, it really isn't. Here's why...
Both Windows PCs and Macs tend to collect digital junk in their RAM storage areas over time, primarily from poorly-written programs and apps causing memory leaks and/or leaving parts of themselves behind in RAM when you close them out.
On top of that, transient glitches caused by power fluctuations can cause data corruption in isolated memory cells.
While these types of RAM issues typically go unnoticed by the user, they often subtly manifest themselves by causing system instability, system slow-downs and a wide variety of other issues.
And if the problem gets bad enough it can result in data loss, random reboots and other miscellaneous problems that can leave you both frustrated and confused.
Now all of the above begin said, it isn't really necessary to restart your computer every single day.
Just one weekly restart (which I do every Saturday morning) should easily be enough to keep the digital gremlins at bay and prevent the types of issues I described above from occurring.
