Hey everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to take a moment to bring something very important to your attention. Recently, I've been hearing more and more heartbreaking stories from clients who have fallen victim to scams. It truly pains me to see people being taken advantage of in this way.
Here's one of the scams making the rounds: People are receiving emails or phone calls from individuals claiming to be from Norton or McAfee. They're being told that they've been charged a renewal fee and given a number to call within 24 hours to cancel and get a refund.
One of my clients received one of these emails and call the number. She filled out a form they provided and gave them access to her computer.
They claimed that on the form she typed $30,000 instead of $300 and that she owed them that amount. Then they demanded a picture of her license front and back, as well as $30,000 in bitcoin and her not to tell anyone.
Please, please, please, do not fall for scams like this. These scammers are manipulative and they know what to say t get people to give them money. They prey on senior citizens.
If you ever receive suspicious emails or phone calls, please reach out to someone you trust for advice. Let's keep each other safe and protected from these scams.
Spread the word and let's put a stop to this nonsense!
