Sony just told a judge that owning a digital PlayStation game was never actually possible. In response to a class action lawsuit over insufficient purchase warnings, Sony argued that digital ownership can't exist because a game can't be resold or given away like a physical copy, and that 'reasonable consumers' already understand that. It's a blunt admission from the same company that's ending PS5 disc production in January 2028. Does the argument hold up, or does it just prove critics right?

In response to an ongoing class action lawsuit, Sony has claimed that proper ownership of a digital game is not possible.

Let us start the day with a really nice thing.

A few months ago, Bill was discussing ... just stuff, with one of our guests. Books came up. One of Bill's all time favorites is, "Elfstones of Shannara". ... Bill really recommends it, if you ever want a good read ... Our friend remembered that conversation, and on Saturday, he stopped by and brought Bill a new copy of the book.

He observed, "Yeah, I'm sure you've already got 10 copies lying around, but I thought you'd like this." Well, no, Bill doesn't have that many copies, AND a gift given by someone out of genuine care and friendship, would make this precious, no matter how many copies Bill had.

This was absolutely a special moment, and this book will hold a place of honor in Bill's posessions.
